Implement tailored interventions to increase cancer screening rates among Black and Asian members for breast and cervical cancers, and among Black, Asian, and Hispanic members for colorectal cancer screening.Assess and improve the quality and completeness of data on patient race and ethnicity.Serve as the Program Manager for a cross-functional, program to eliminate health disparities among our patients.This position, reporting to the newly established Director of Health Equity, will work to close the outcome gaps that our patients of color face in specific disease areas as well as drive the improvement of data collection and quality. The committee has advanced several recommendations related to training and improvements in data collection and reporting, as well as operational improvements to advance equity however, SHCN recognizes that we still have significant opportunities for continued improvement to achieve our goal of eliminating health disparities among our patients. The committee was charged with establishing a baseline understanding of current health equity issues and making recommendations for action steps to advance health equity for our members. In June 2020, SHCN established its Health Equity Committee with diverse participation from across the organization.
